Creative Process

My background in the creative arts shapes how I see and work with people. I often think of therapy as a

creative process; a dialogue between the parts of ourselves that have been silenced and those that want to speak.

In my own process I use imagery or metaphor to explore experience; to notice what arises.

Creativity isn't about making anything.  It is about noticing what happens when something inside you is given space.

The Overthinker

There is a part of you that tries to stay safe by figuring everything out  thinking, analysing, making sure nothing is missed.

The Contradiction

The Survival Lens

We all wear survival lenses. They're designed to keep us safe, but they can blur what's really in front of us. When we can't change the lens, we stay stuck in old stories.

The Contradiction

The one who smiles, and the one breaking underneath. The one who says "you're not enough," and the one who whispers "you're doing your best." Therapy can be a place where all of it is welcome.

The Addict

She shows up in a quiet ache, a restless scroll, a fridge door opening, a pull toward something sweet, or thrilling, or numbing. It's not about indulgence. It's about not wanting to feel this way anymore.

The Inner Critic

She sits in the back of your mind, watching your every move — unrelenting, sharp-tongued, always waiting to critique. Her goal is to keep you safe. But at what cost?

Embryonic Love

Before love had a name, it was felt. We were held. Our earliest experiences live in the body — in the rhythm of our breath, in the way we hold ourselves. Through quiet attention, we can begin to meet them again.

If something here stirred a question, a recognition, or a quiet yes, that's often where the work begins
